Are you an Expert who Gives Great Feedback? Join us!
Providing high-quality feedback is a great gift. At The Revision Center, we recognize providers of useful feedback as master teachers. We are a new educational organization dedicated to improving an individual's writing projects (and learning) by focusing on revision based on expert feedback.
There are many effective ways to teach such as designing lesson plans, delivering captivating lectures, or creating educational videos. An equally important, yet often underappreciated skill of teachers is providing useful feedback on specific projects.
We feel that the best way to help writers who need feedback on their projects is to create a climate and marketplace that takes into account experts’ needs and enables them to earn extra income at their market rate. You provide high-quality feedback on writing projects. We do the rest, including free courses to help writers improve their projects after receiving feedback.
Who we’re looking for: Anyone with the desire and ability to provide high-quality feedback on written projects in their field of expertise. Your services can be in any field or combination of fields and as broad or narrow as you like. You can state in your post what types of projects you will and won’t review.
We encourage top experts to join us and share their expertise, even if only for a few hours per week. There are also many situations where an acclaimed expert isn’t needed and useful feedback from a person with the relevant skills and experience is appropriate. If you have enough knowledge to teach a workshop on the topic, then you have the requisite domain knowledge to provide feedback services.
How it works: Post your profile and set your rate. Clients submit their projects for your review. Read and provide useful feedback in a timely manner. You will receive 90% of the total cost of the project, which is significantly higher than other platforms.
The Catch: Providing high-quality feedback is challenging work. Ultimately satisfying work for many, but not easy. We do not work with experts who provide bad or mediocre feedback.
Earn extra income on your time, at your rate, in your field of expertise. Experts can set and change their rate, work on their own schedule, and decline projects if they are not within the services they offer. We know experts are extremely busy. We offer fast payment and excellent customer service.
Other features for vetted experts:
The option to offer your services anonymously. We hope that this will enable experts who otherwise wouldn’t provide their services be able to share their knowledge.
Experts are encouraged to be very specific on the types of projects that they’ll accept.
We recognize that writers will not agree with all of your comments. Disagreeing with the feedback is not grounds for a refund. Writers pay for your time and a good-faith effort to provide useful feedback.
Careful, quick vetting. Training is available to anyone who desires it, but is not mandatory for experts with proven experience.
Be a part of a community of teachers that excel at providing useful feedback.
One may ask, “Why shouldn’t I just offer my services on more established marketplaces?” You are, of course, welcome to offer your services on multiple websites. On bigger platforms, there is a lot of competition to provide services and potential clients associate these sites with gigs. Clients search for graphic designers on these websites, for example, but are unlikely to search for an expert to review their graphic design portfolio.
The Revision Center has an educational mission to help lifelong learners and writers develop their knowledge and skills and we want experts to earn the money they deserve. We won’t have expensive overhead and just want to facilitate the expert/writer connection and help writers and independent learners achieve their goals. If we gain traction, our focus will expand to creating useful, free courses and content for lifelong learners and writers.
This is a nice side-hustle opportunity for qualified experts. We’re just getting started and plan to continually add experts as we grow. Now is the most exciting time to get in on the ground floor as one of our founding experts.
Even if your area of expertise is uncommon, please don’t hesitate to contact me. We are always interested in working with expert feedback providers to make your services more accessible.
If you can provide high-quality feedback, please contact me at: Ed@TheRevisionCenter.com or book a 15-minute Zoom meeting.
We look forward to having you join our team!
